Life has been crazy around here. Mom has realized, if she don't call me by 7AM then she probably won't get a hold of me the rest of the day. We are all staying very busy, the boys have been spending a lot of time at Nanny's and Poppy's doing jobs for them. Ryder and Kinyon move handlines and do other jobs they are asked to do. Then we have baseball everyday with a least one of them. Porter has been a big help to Poppy this year, and is enjoying making money and saving for things he wants to buy. Nikkelle is staying busy too. She has drill practice at 6AM to 10AM, then she goes to practice for the Stadium of Fire 10:30-12:30. She is so tired and hungry by the time she is done. She will usually have a little nap before she goes to work from 4:00-9:15. Kaitlyn has choir practice, and is learning to play piano. She loves spending time with her lamb. She is also going to learn to play tennis in July. Cheyenne is going to Pre-Kindergarten and is loving it. She is so excited to actually start Kindergarten and ride the bus with the other kids. Shane has been out of town most of this month. I'm still working at the baseball park every night from 4:30-9. So we have had a hard time finding time for everyone to get together for the Twins birthday party. Well it just happened the only time we could do this party was at 9AM on Saturday. It worked out but seemed weird to have it that early. Happy Birthday Kaitlyn and Kinyon!

What NOT to do when you chase lambs.
So a couple of weekends ago when Shane brought the lambs home, I had Chandra kids here. So we had 10 kids, I mean 9 kids Nikki didn't want to be a part of this. Outside watching and wanting to help and be a part of unloading the lambs. We did pretty good until the last 2. We caught one of them then the other one heading on down the road. I told Ryder to get on his bike so he could catch up to it and chase it back our way. Well that went pretty good and lamb started run back to where it was suppose to go. Kinyon and Stattyn where back by the gate holding it open for the lamb and making sure the other lambs didn't get out. Well when the lamb almost got to the gate the other lambs started running for the gate so the boys closed it. So the lamb turned and was going to run away again. I was right behind him so I reached out to grab him, but he got away from me then Porter was behind me and he caught him. So after we put him in the gate my picky was all tingly on the left side so I went to look at it to see what was wrong. Boy was I shocked to see my pinky! I said "WHATS WRONG WITH MY PINKY!" I never felt anything but the tingly feeling after we were done chasing that wonderful lamb. So now every time I go to chase a lamb now Shane says " Shalaine don't you chase them I don't want you to hurt yourself again." He is so kind and thoughtful, but sometimes I can't help it if I'm there and the kids need help, I help. So hopefully nothing like this will happen again. So I guess I have a inherited finger from my Dad. I hope you get a good kick out of it because I still think it is funny!!! I do wish I had my old pinky back but I'm getting used to it now.

The Spring Lamb Show
The kids have to show the lambs in the spring show, in order to sell them at the fair. This year was a little more hectic then before. We have shown 3 lambs for a few years now. This year we had to show 6 lambs. So that means 3 more lambs that need sheered and cared for. It took Shane a few extra nights to get them all done. He does a good job though. Feeding is a little more complicated then the other years. We have decide to feed each lamb individually, as of before we just feed them all together. So depending on how much they weigh depends on how much they get feed. We have a couple of smaller ones, we are having to push them to get them to make weight by fair time. So this year at the Spring Show we were so excited for Nikkelle because she got Reserved Showmanship. We were all surprised because she basically hates doing this. But I guess she really knows how to act like she is really interested in what she is doing. Good Job Nikki. Kaitlyn did a really awesome job too being her first year. Her lamb was not cooperating it kept jumping up on her. Which is weird because she is always out in the pen, petting her lamb and trying to make her be friendly. She made it in the top 10 for Showmanship out of about 30-40 kids showing lambs in her age group. We are so proud of her, keep up the good work and maybe you will win at the fair show. Here are some pictures of the show and just pictures of the lambs and kids. I never got a picture of Kinyon , I will have to take a picture of him helping feed the lambs.
