Nikkelle is offically a Troyette!

Nikkelle was debating if she should try out for drill team or not. She wasn't sure if she wanted her whole life to revolve around drill team. She has been working really hard the last three years to get to this decision. Then once she was here she wasn't quite sure. Well she decide she would do it this year and maybe next year. But not her senior year she wants to be able to have fun, and do Cosmetology School. She had drill clinic for a week she dance 2:30- 5:30 every night except Thursday night she had figured she had danced 7 hours. She was extremely tired, so I let her sleep in and miss Seminary. Friday was try-outs, we were there for 3 1/2 hours. It was long and made everyone have butterflies. It was very exciting when they handed out the letters. They couldn't open them until everyone had theirs. Nikki opened hers and it said she had made the team. It was also a hard time, because some of Nikki's friends and girls she dances with didn't make the team. Nikki was sad for them. Later that night about 11:40 her coach and the Senior girls from this year come around and kidnap the girls. They have a party and play games on getting to know each other. She didn't get home until 3 am. Again, another late night for Nikkelle. But she has the weekend to get caught back up on her sleep. Congratulations Nikkelle!!!! We are so proud of you. Keep up the dedication and you will be able to do whatever you want to do.

What Is This World Coming To!!!

So everyone keeps telling me I need to update my blog. Since these are the only things that have happened here, here it goes. I work at the Middle School, during lunch taking students numbers, entering them into the computer and cleaning up after those messy kids. Well on Monday we got told the schools where on lock down. Nothing like this has every happened where we live, so we were a little freaked out. So they tell us this guy is on his way to the school to hurt people. He said "that someone here offended his gang". So I automatically call the High School and pull Nikki out of school, thinking that is probably were he was headed. I had my father in-law go pick her up, since he was in town. I wasn't about to leave her in that school. The 5th grade kids were freaked out, we were trying to keep them calm by telling them everything was going to be okay. In the mean time, my co-workers and I are worried about our students in the other schools. By the time we were finished with lunch, they said it was over. So how did this all happen. This guys roommate called the police where he lived. He told them his roommates plan. They then called our police who informed the schools. This roommate saved a lot of lives and I'm so grateful for him. The police pulled him over about 10 minutes from the schools. He had 10 loaded weapons and 25 more rounds of ammunition. I've heard they had 15 cops surrounding him with all their weapons pulled. I am so thankful that is where it ended. This roommate is a hero in my eyes.
Then you wouldn't believe it. Tuesday there is another lock down at the schools. I was home by the time this one happened. Come to find out the Bank had been robbed which has never happened here either. So they locked the schools to keep everyone their safe. The guy did get away but nobody got hurt. Hopefully we don't see this kind of stuff happen ever again. It just lets you realize things can happen anywhere, anytime.
